JFK is the reason we are all here today. His brilliant and calm demeanor during the Cuban Missile Crisis resulted in the world seeing the sun not only the next morning but also the sun that rises next. He also was the first president to stand and try to enact legislation for Civil Rights. If President Kennedy had not been assassinated Civil Rights legislation would have not happened for at least another 10 years. The War on Poverty (LBJ and LBJ lovers take credit for this) was actually President Kennedy’s idea. He did not have enough time to enact it, but he had plans to start it. He also tried to liberate Cuba several times, but sadly failed. He also realized his faults in Vietnam and had signed an executive order to withdraw 1,000 troops by the end of 1963, and all troops but 1965. This was reversed almost immediately when LBJ became president.I hope I have convinced you that John F. Kennedy was more than just a martyr.
People think you’re crazy if you talk about things they don’t understand.
